Prof. Dr. Waheeba G. Fare'e Al Fakih is one of Yemen's leading scholars in the fields of educational planning, educational administration, and higher education development. She has served as a faculty member at Sana'a University, Queen Arwa University, and the National Institute of Administrative Sciences (NIAS).

Throughout her distinguished academic and professional career, she has acted as an advisor to numerous governmental and non-governmental organizations in Yemen, as well as an educational consultant for several international organizations working in the fields of education, human development, human rights, public administration, the Higher Commission for Human Rights, and the National Council of Civil Service.

Academic and Administrative Career

Since 1987, Prof. Al Fakih has served as a university lecturer in the fields of sociology of education, philosophy of education, educational planning, and educational administration at Sana'a University.

She has held numerous academic and leadership positions throughout her career, including:

• Head of the Women's Education Department (1976)

• Leadership role at the Yemen Institute for Language and Innovation (YILI) (1989)

• Dean-level leadership within the Faculty of Education, Sana'a University (1992)

• Senior position in Higher Education administration (1990)

• Director of the Women's Studies Center, Sana'a University (1992)

• Founder of Queen Arwa University (1996)

• Minister of State for Human Rights (2001–2004), becoming the first Yemeni woman appointed to this ministerial position

• Director General of the National Institute of Administrative Sciences (NIAS), Yemen (2007)

Prof. Al Fakih has organized, chaired, and participated in numerous national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops focusing on:
