In a new achievement added to its academic journey, Queen Arwa University (QAU) has made its debut in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2026, marking the university’s first-ever appearance in one of the world’s international rankings dedicated to sustainability and environmental performance in higher education institutions.
According to the official results published by UI GreenMetric, Queen Arwa University has been ranked 1,640th globally, with a total score of 3,377.5 points, in its first participation in the ranking. The ranking evaluates universities based on a comprehensive set of indicators related to sustainability, infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste management, water management, transportation, as well as education and research.
This international recognition reflects Queen Arwa University’s growing commitment to strengthening its institutional presence on the global stage and advancing university practices related to sustainability and environmental responsibility, while developing an educational and research environment aligned with emerging global trends in higher education.
According to the ranking data, the university achieved a total score of 3,377.5 points, distributed across several assessment categories, including Setting and Infrastructure (SI) with 315 points, Energy and Climate Change (EC) with 800 points, Waste (WS) with 475 points, Water (WR) with 325 points, Transportation (TR) with 787.5 points, and Education and Research (ED) with 362.5 points.
Queen Arwa University’s entry into the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings represents an important step in its journey toward greater engagement with international rankings and provides the university with an opportunity to assess its performance against global sustainability standards, while continuously improving its practices and strengthening its presence in international academic forums.
