In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the noblest of all messengers, our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and all his companions.

At the outset, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation and gratitude to all members of the university community—our faculty members, administrative staff, and students. I would also like to express my special thanks to everyone who contributed to the preparation and publication of this University Guide, particularly Dr. Hazza Al-Humaidi, whose dedication and efforts made this work possible.

The word guide carries profound significance and remarkable importance. Its value is threefold: it is important in itself, essential in its function, and invaluable in achieving its purpose. Looking back through history, we find that a guide—one who leads others to the right path—has always held a distinguished place within society. A guide directs people toward their intended destination safely and confidently. A notable example is the migration (Hijrah) of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), who, despite his unique status and divine mission, relied upon a guide during that historic journey. This illustrates that every endeavor, regardless of its nature, benefits from sound guidance.

Indeed, every task and every product requires a guide to explain its purpose and facilitate its proper use. Medicines, for example, cannot be used arbitrarily; they must be accompanied by clear instructions describing the correct dosage and method of use. Likewise, tools, equipment, and technological devices are provided with user manuals that explain their operation and ensure they are used safely and effectively. The absence of such guidance may result in significant losses, the most serious of which may be the loss of human life.

The existence of a guide should never be interpreted as evidence of ambiguity, ignorance, or unfamiliarity. Rather, the broader, more sophisticated, and more multifaceted an institution becomes, the more indispensable a comprehensive guide is. A university is an extensive academic community with diverse colleges, departments, laboratories, regulations, administrative structures, and academic systems. It is virtually impossible for any individual to become fully acquainted with all these components without a reliable source of guidance.

I vividly recall my own experience as a university student in a non-Arab country. Upon joining the university, I felt like a feather carried by the wind. I knew very little about the institution, and everything around me seemed unfamiliar and overwhelming. Unsure of where to begin or how to proceed, I turned to the University Guide. That decision proved to be my lifeline, providing the direction and confidence I needed to navigate university life successfully and achieve my academic aspirations.

Recognizing the intrinsic importance of such a guide, our university has undertaken the preparation of this comprehensive publication. In fact, many leading universities produce multiple specialized guides rather than relying on a single publication. These may include student handbooks, graduate studies guides, research manuals, innovation and artificial intelligence guides, and other specialized references designed to serve the diverse needs and interests of different members of the academic community.

I sincerely hope that researchers, scholars, writers, and historians will also find this guide to be a valuable reference. While it assists students in understanding the university's academic programs, colleges, departments, laboratories, regulations, and administrative systems, it also provides researchers in educational administration with a useful source for studying the historical development of university management through successive editions of its guides. The same applies to researchers in other disciplines. Likewise, historians documenting the evolution of higher education may rely on this guide, either wholly or in part, as an authoritative source for recording the university's institutional history.

Finally, it is only fitting to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of everyone involved in the preparation, compilation, and publication of this guide. Their dedication, professionalism, and commitment deserve our sincere appreciation and gratitude.

May Allah grant them success, and may He continue to guide us all in serving knowledge, education, and our academic community.
