Queen Arwa University presented its annual report today before the Annual Performance Reports Discussion Committee of the Higher Education Sector at the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, as part of the annual meeting dedicated to evaluating the performance of Yemeni public and private universities and assessing progress in institutional development and the quality of academic and administrative performance.
The discussion session was attended by the Vice President of the University, Dr. Ghassan Ali Hashem; the Dean of the Center for Development and Quality Assurance, Dr. Abdulghani Ali Al-Maqbali; and the Director of the Computer Unit - University Information Systems Representative, Eng. Saddam Hussein Al-Slfi. Also participating were members of the report preparation team, including Eng. Hala Sharaf Al-Din, Quality Management Officer; Ms. Asia Al-Hakim, Control Department Director; Mr. Majd Al-Din Tariq, representative of the Administrative Affairs Department; and Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Ajhar, Media Officer.
During the session, the university team delivered a comprehensive presentation on the key performance indicators and achievements accomplished by the university during the year, in line with the approved evaluation domains. These included strategic planning, leadership and governance, teaching and learning, quality assurance, scientific research, community service, human and financial resources, and institutional development.
In the course of the discussion, the Deputy Minister for the Higher Education Sector, Dr. Ibrahim Luqman, along with members of the evaluation committee, commended the distinguished quality of the university’s annual report. They affirmed that the report was comprehensive and well-integrated across all evaluation domains, clearly reflecting the university’s effective response to the observations and recommendations provided by the committee during last year’s report discussion. This, they noted, reinforces the university’s commitment to continuous improvement and the advancement of institutional performance.
For his part, the Vice President of the University, Dr. Ghassan Ali Hashem, emphasized that Queen Arwa University views the annual evaluation process as an important opportunity to strengthen institutional development, measure levels of achievement, and identify areas for improvement, in alignment with the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research’s efforts to advance the higher education system and enhance the quality of its outcomes.
Dr. Hashem further noted that the commendation received by the report reflects the commitment of the university’s leadership, academic staff, and administrative personnel to embedding a culture of quality, strengthening monitoring and evaluation practices, and making effective use of the feedback provided by the evaluation committee. He added that these efforts contribute to the development of academic programs, the improvement of graduate outcomes, and the enhancement of the university’s standing as an academic institution committed to excellence, innovation, and community service.
The Vice President reaffirmed Queen Arwa University’s continued commitment to implementing its development plans, updating its academic programs, and strengthening the environment of quality assurance and academic accreditation. He stressed that these efforts are designed to keep pace with development requirements, meet labor market needs, and fulfill the university’s mission of preparing qualified scientific and professional competencies capable of effectively contributing to nation-building.
