Queen Arwa University Organizes "Food for Life" Event on World Food Day
The Therapeutic Nutrition Department at Queen Arwa University organized an event titled "Food for Life: Ensuring Food Security for All" in celebration of World Food Day on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
The event was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Khayyat, President of the University, with the attendance of Dr. Ghassan Hashem, Vice President, Prof. Dr. Lutfi Al-Rahbi, Dean of the College of Medical Sciences, Dr. Abdul Ghani Al-Maqbali, Dean of the Quality Center, and Dr. Mohammed Al-Sibai, Head of the Therapeutic Nutrition Department.
The event featured a variety of dietary presentations, including therapeutic foods for diabetes, heart, liver, and digestive system patients, as well as foods tailored for athletes, Mediterranean and DASH diets for hypertension, skincare foods, nutritional assessments, and body measurements. "Youmi Farm" also participated by showcasing its natural products like milk and dairy products.
Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Khayyat expressed his delight at the revival of such global events, encouraging all colleges to organize similar activities. Dr. Ghassan Hashem noted his satisfaction with the progress in presentation methods and student performance, while Dr. Lutfi Al-Rahbi thanked the organizers and emphasized the importance of nutrition in patient health.
The event was attended by prominent academic figures, including Prof. Dr. Adnan Al-Qabati, Professor of Human Nutrition at Sana’a University, Dr. Saad Al-Burti from the Diabetes Center, Dr. Abda Al-Saadi, Dr. Masad Al-Sabari, Dr. Adnan Al-Jaradi, Dr. Najib Al-Surmi, Dr. Wadi Al-Mawlid, as well as university staff and students.
