Queen Arwa University Organizes Seminar on "Mental Health and Its Relation to Nutrition" on World Mental Health Day
Under the auspices of Queen Arwa University and the Dean of the College of Medical Sciences, the Therapeutic Nutrition Department organized a seminar titled "Mental Health and Its Relation to Nutrition," coinciding with World Mental Health Day.
The seminar was opened by Dr. Mohammed Al-Sibai, Head of the Therapeutic Nutrition Department, who welcomed the attendees and emphasized the importance of such seminars in enhancing both the theoretical and practical knowledge of students, as well as serving the community.
The seminar featured several student presentations: Nuha Al-Jaadi and Juhaina Abdul-Mughni discussed types and causes of mental disorders, while Nada Al-Miqdad focused on nutritional assessment for people with mental disorders. Itha Al-Azzani elaborated on clinical examinations, and Doaa Al-Ja'al talked about body assessments. Following this, students Huda Abu Talib, Amani Al-Ansiy, and Yasmin Al-Nawar presented therapeutic nutrition for individuals with mental disorders.
The seminar concluded with Maram Al-Asadi discussing the role of exercise in improving the health status of individuals with mental disorders.
The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Lutfi Al-Rahbi, Dean of the College, Dr. Mohammed Al-Sibai, Head of the Therapeutic Nutrition Department, Dr. Khalil Saleh, Dr. Marwa Al-Absi, and Ms. Afraa from the Student Affairs Department of the College of Medical Sciences, along with a large number of students.
